Extracting the salt from Sambhar lake, some 30 km west of Jaipur , India, is hard work, indeed, for men and women alike. But local women still find the time to choose beautiful fabrics and exquisite jewelry for their every-day attire.
The walls leading to the mosque in Sambhar city, on the namesake lake near Jaipur are appropriately green, the color of Islam. Green is also the turban of this older gentlemen, follower of one of the many religions present in India.
Working the salt
Most tourist in Rajasthan drive straight from Pushkar to Jaipur. And that's a mistake, because between the two cities lays a wealth of places to discover and of wonderful people to meet! For example, this Indian man with a creme turban.
